Blank Map is the work of Adee Roberson, Brontez Purnell, keyon gaskin, Tasha Ceyan, and Wizard Apprentice, a temporary collective of Black artist-performer-musicians. It is a psychedelic, improvisational experiment in which performers explore prioritizing personal interest over the distracting influence of oppressive gaze. The project was produced by San Francisco-based performance artist, Keith Hennessy. Wizard Apprentice’s main roles in the project were sound and stage design. It was presented at Dance Mission Theater in June 2016 as part of the National Queer Arts Festival, co-produced by Circo Zero and Queer Cultural Center.
